In my podcast, B2B Talk with James Tuckerman, I interviewed Omar Zenhom, the co-founder of webinar software Webinar Ninja and the host and creator of the 100 MBA podcast. He shared his personal journey of how he struggled with selling from a stage or to a larger audience, but eventually figured it out. Omar Zenhom’s story of creating Webinar Ninja is a classic case of “scratching your own itch.” He was running webinars to sell his program, the 100 MBA, and was frustrated with the existing webinar software available at the time. He cobbled together his own solution and started running webinars with it.

Attendees were impressed and asked if they could buy it, and that’s when he realized that he had stumbled upon a solution to a pain point that many people were facing.

He then put together a landing page and pre-sold Webinar Ninja to 250 beta users, and it sold out within 48 hours!!

This validated his idea and provided him with the funding to hire a real developer to clean up and improve his solution.

Fast forward to today, eight years later, Webinar Ninja has over 30,000 users and 2 million webinars have been attended using the software.

Omar’s insights on webinars and his success with Webinar Ninja show that webinars are a powerful tool for building your personal brand and generating sales.

However, it takes time and practice to master how to sell off the back of them.
