A weird lull happens between the fourth Thursday in November (i.e. Thanksgiving) and the Friday before Christmas. 

It’s a difficult period for sales and marketing, because it’s often hard to open new prospect relationships.

 Plus, many of your existing prospects are focused on ‘getting things done and dusted’ before the Silly Season gets under way. 

In Australia, where it’s summer at this time of year, most business owners go on vacation, and don’t return until mid January. 

In the USA and Canada, the fiscal year ends on 31 December, which adds an extra layer of urgency and complexity for those desperate to ‘shut down’ before Christmas or New Year’s.

Be the facilitator of something that they already know that they need to do. HELP, DON'T HUSTLE.

At this time of year, you also want to take a loooong break. Yes? 

I shut down my office for three glorious weeks, at this time of year.

But just because we 'down tools' that doesn't mean that we turn them off.

My most reliable strategies at this time of year usually involve social media in one form or another. 

Your future clients might not be checking their email, but they can’t seem to stay off Facebook and LinkedIn for too long.

If you are a B2B business owner, LinkedIn is the easier of the two to automate, as a way to open doors, book meetings and win more clients.
